Video Shows How To Make a Quick Survival Kit
Whether you're planning a long trip in the woods, a cross country hike or need to evacuate your home suddenly, you should have a survival kit ready to go. Call it what you will: emergency kit, grap and go bag, bugout bag, survival pack, whatever. A good survival kit could keep you alive. The survival video here, by YouTuber "ryanjcus," is the best one I've found so far, mainly because the survival kit shown is very small but extremely efficient. Ryan has the "Survival Of The Smartest" channel on YouTube. The items in his survival kit are non-perishable, and the kit is so small that it would make a lot of sense to keep one in the trunk of your car along with your standard first aid kit. If you ever find yourself stranded on an isolated stretch of wilderness with a dead cell phone and no town or city for 50 miles, you'll be very happy to have this kit strapped around your waist. You can find most of the items in Ryan's survival kit at many Army Navy surplus stores, your local hardware store, and some at most large supermarkets. You can also find them online at sites such at 1800Prepare.com. Also see a good checklist for making a survival kit for you and your family over at www.ready.gov/america/getakit.
